The iPhone 5 will officially be in the hands of millions across nine countries spanning four continents on Friday morning.

In the US, the latest Apple device will go for $199 for 16GB. $299 for 32GB, $399 for 64GB when under contract with the three exclusive mobile carriers selling the iPhone. AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless will support the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 will have an increased screen of four-inches, an increase of 0.5-inches from the iPhone 4S. The screen will feature Retina Display with a resolution of 1136x640 and 326 ppi.

The display of the smartphone is made "entirely" of glass, according to Apple Inc.'s Senior Vice President Phil Schiller, and it'll have an aluminum black metal case. It measures at 7.6 mm and weights 112 grams, making it 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter.

"As you carry your phone it should fit beautifully in your hand," added Schiller, during the iPhone 5's keynote on Sept. 12.

The performance for the iPhone 5 has improved and will have "ultrafast wireless."

It will feature the new A6 processor which Apple states will make the device run twice as fast compared to the iPhone 4S, with launch pages 2.1 times faster, load music apps 1.9 times faster, and save images from iPhoto app 1.7 times faster. The A6 processor, according to Schiller, will help reduce noise, have a smart filter, and capture photos at a faster rate.

The wireless connection will feature GPRS, EDGE, EV-DO, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and LTE, HSPA+ is 21Mbps, and DC-HSDPA is 42Mbps.

One important new aspect Apple is proud to announce is the 4G LTE technology. LTE will make its debut on the iPhone 5 will be featured on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.

When it comes to battery performance, it can withstand up to eight hours of talk time, eight hours of 3G and LTE browsing, 10 hours for Wi-Fi browsing, music for 40 hours, and on standby for 225 hours.

The camera's rear-facing camera will have eight-megapixels with 3,264 x 2,448 backside-illuminated sensor, five-element lens and f/2.4 aperture.

The camera will be able to take panoramic views and a new feature to share photos. The panoramic view will be 28-megapixels.

Video will be 1080p HD while FaceTime will have a HD camera at 720p. Both will have face detection. The front-facing camera will also be at 720p.

Three microphones will be featured on the smartphone, from the front, back, and the bottom of the device.

The iOS, Apple's newest operating system will be featured on the iPhone 5.

Schiller has referred the iOS 6 as, "The most advanced operating system in any mobile device."

An important feature is the Lightning Adapter. The dock connector decreased its pins from 30 to eight and an adapter will help connect it to other 30-pin connectors.

The iPhone 5 will also be able to charge wirelessly.
