Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs & Price: Flagship Smartphone to Have 5.2-inch Diagonal Screen? [Rumors]

More rumors about the alleged new Sony flagship device Xperia Z4 are circulating online.

One of the latest rumors about the device debunks earlier claims that it will have a 5.5 inches display. Citing an unidentified Sony insider, Phone Arena reported that the phone will have a 5.2 inch with 1080p display.

It also cited another source who allegedly "leaked some iPhone 6 schematics before," who said that the new phone will have the "same screen diagonal."

An Air Herald report speculated that the Sony Xperia Z4 might be larger than its predecessors with a 5.5 inch display. It will also have a 2560 x 1440 quad HD resolution. Its processor will also probably be upgraded to 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. It will also have an upgraded graphics chip to Andreno 430 from Xperia Z3's Andreno 330.

However, one of Phone Arena's sources said that the new device will probably get a Snapdragon 805. To which Phone Arena also agreed, noting of the device's alleged set release date on January 2015 during the Consumer Electronics Show.

But Air Herald and Android Origin predicted that the new device will likely be unveiled on March next year during the Mobile World Congress.

Based on the concept image made by Ben Ling in October, the Sony Xperia Z4 will be 6.5 mm thick and will weigh 150 grams, Concept Phones reported. It added that the RAM will also be upgraded to 4 GB.

The device is also expected to get a 20.7MP camera, which is also present in other Sony Z-series phones. According to Concept Phones, the camera will have a 1/2.3 inch sensor and LED flash, a 23 mm G lens, ISO up to 12.800, and Exmor RS sensor. The camera can also do an 8x digital zoom and 4K video recording. The front camera is also expected to be upgraded to a 3.2 megapixel.

It is also possible that the Xperia Z4 may be released with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop as its operating system, Air Herald noted. The report said that an upgrade in the device's audio is also being eyed. As for the storage, the smartphone is expected to get an upgrade to a 32 GB or a 64 GB internal storage, Concept Phones revealed. It also said that it might come with a Bluetooth 4.1, Category 6 LTE, and a 3300 mAh battery.

It has also been speculated that the new smartphone will be launched with a new phablet called Xperia Z4 Ultra. Christian Today said that this new phablet is expected to have a very thin design with ultra-slim bezels. It is expected to be larger than the Xperia Z4 at 5.95-inch screen display.

Sony has not yet confirmed any of these rumors.
