NBA All Stars 2015 Uniform Designs Surprisingly Simple

Compared to the intricate uniforms featured in the past few NBA All-Star Games, 2015's version is rather simple.

In a report by Yahoo! Sports, the All-Star Game uniforms are set to be released on December 2, 2014, featuring a low-profile pattern that is expected to garner positive reviews from NBA fans, considering how ornate and hi-tech the previous styles have become. The NBA stated that the uniform has stitched stard on the left of the chest area and sides of the shorts, which feature five distinct patterns to pay tribute to the five New York City boroughs. There is a taxi-checkered pattern which represents Manhattan, a brick pattern which stands for the brownhouses of Brooklyn. The Unisphere from the 1964 World's Fair is also present, representing Queens. The waves stand for Staten Island and the vinyl record salutes the Bronx and its deep hip-hop roots.

In the same Yahoo! article, NBA All-Stars will also feature patches on their uniform that indicate their previous accomplishments as an NBA player, such as NBA champion, NBA MVP or All-Star Game MVP and Rookie of the Year.

In a report by ProBasketballTalk, Adidas, the official clothing partner of the NBA, revealed the 2015 NBA All-Star uniforms in Manhattan on December. The main elements in the new uniforms include muted color palettes, patches and sleeves. Overall, the 2015 design can be described as classic and simple.

The player's number is placed on the front of the jersey. On the back, both the first and last names of the All-Star will be printed. Compared to the traditional red and blue colors that represent the Western and Eastern Conference teams, 2015 will use black and white for a subtler approach. The five star patches featuring the distinct patterns will be placed on the sides of the player's shorts. On the left chest area of the jersey, another star patch is featured, showing a combination of all five patterns, placed on each section of the star, to correlate with the five regions of New York. One of the biggest changes in the jerseys is the removal of the division identifier. There is no more "East" or "West" emblazoned on the chest.

David Cho, overseer of the NBA-Adidas partnership, said about the new design in a report by ESPN, "It's simple and timeless. It's a nod to the history, culture and style of New York City basketball."

The All-Star apparel will be offered for sale by Adidas and NBA.com beginning January 2015.
