Apple isn't known to give out discounts for its products. Why would they when their gadgets are selling like hotcakes? However, that's not to say the Steve Jobs-founded company isn't against giving their loyal customers and brand fans a great deal. And they're also joining in the Black Friday fun - with a small, yet noble, twist.

"The company will offer free iTunes gift cards of between $25 and $100 on certain products including some iPhones, iPads, iPods, Beats headphones and speakers, Macs and MacBooks," The Independent said. "Apple confirmed that customers in the United States 'will receive a special edition (RED) iTunes gift card with the purchase of select Apple products' in its retail stores or online on Black Friday."

The publication explained that the tech firm will donate a portion of the sale made to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. The percentage, however, was not specified.

It's also been observed that Apple's gift cards this year is lower in value than those issued last year.

"This is the second straight year that Apple has chosen to give gift cards instead of a discount off the full price for its wares. Unfortunately, the amounts that it is offering for those cards have apparently decreased from last year," ZDNet pointed out. "Instead of a $75 card for iPads, it's only giving out $50 cards this year, and instead of $150 of iTunes credit for the purchase of a Mac, it's providing $100 this year."

"In a slight improvement from 2013, the iTunes gift card will come with the purchase of any iPad that Apple currently sells - the iPad Air 2 and Air, and the iPad mini 3, 2, and original version - whereas last year, the firm did not offer a card for the then-new iPad Air," the site added.

It is also worth noting that Apple fans generally know there are better deals on Apple products from other retailers. However, there is something distinctive about taking up the tech firm on its holiday offers, especially that these are bundled with charity.

In other news, MacRumors said bigger discounts could be had on Apple products from retailers like MacMall, which will be "discounting its stock of MacBook Air and Retina MacBook Pro computers by $50 to $200, depending on configuration."

"MacMall offers Apple computers with a variety of custom configurations, similar to the online Apple Store. MacMall is also offering the Mac Pro for up to $600 off, the Mac mini for up to $60 off, and the iMac for up to $120 off. The new iPad Air 2 will also see discounts of up to $75 off," the tech news site added.

Will you get your iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2 from Apple or from some other retailer this holiday season?
