Microsoft has finally announced which games Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be getting this December for free. It's time to find out whether your bets were on the money.

"Xbox One owners will receive the latest entry in the Worms series, 'Worms Battlegrounds'," IGN said. "The downloadable strategy game features twenty-five single player story missions, multiplayer deathmatch, and over two hundred customization items."

This game had received a metascore of 70 on Metacritic, with some hailing it as "the best in the franchise," and others saying it's actually "not too bad." What do you say, gamers? Is "Worms Battlegrounds" something to whoop about?

The Team 17-developed game is just one of three games offered for free play this December for Xbox Live Gold users. There's also "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" for Xbox 360. Unlike "Worms Battlegrounds," which can be downloaded for the whole December, "Raven" will only be available from December 1-15, IGN noted.

According to the official Xbox site, "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" will begin "in a graphic adventure set in the 1960s, on the trail of a dapper art thief known as the Raven." This game had been described by an IGN review as "a thrilling crime adventure in three episodes" that "immerses you in both sides of the story, combining thrill-of-the-chase whodunit with the risk and reward of a heist story."

Sounds exciting. But will gamers applaud at the inclusion of this game in the "free to play" roster?

The third game on offer for December 2014 is "SSX," which is "a modern day reinvention of one of the most critically acclaimed arcade franchises of all-time, allows you to experience the franchise's signature fun and adrenaline-packed gameplay across iconic mountain ranges all over the world," according to Xbox's blog. Destructoid said that this particular game will only be available from December 15-31.

In a review done by IGN, it's been said that "SSX" is "the video game this generation has been missing" and that it "redefines snowboarding games, raises the bar for the genre, then backflips over it."

Sounds really... Cool (pun intended). Your thoughts, Xbox gamers?

Right now, Xbox Live Gold subscribers still have until the end of November to play "Volgarr the Viking" or "Red Faction: Guerilla" on Xbox One and Xbox 360, respectively, Polygon said.

But if you're done with those games, you can take advantage of the Deals with Gold for this week, which "includes more games and add-ons than usual, with 40 percent off 'Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition,' 30 percent off 'Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag,' and more," GameSpot said.
