The lads have done it again! Or, more accurately, One Direction AND the fervent, all-out support of Directioners.

The band has, once again, a number one album on their hands. Billboard announced the boys' recent studio release, "Four," smashed its way to the the top of the US Billboard 200 chart on its first week since its launching on November 17.

"They are the only group in the 58-year history of the chart to see their first four albums debut at No. 1," the music industry news source said. "A year ago, they became the first group to enter at No. 1 with their first three studio sets, when Midnight Memories bowed atop the chart."

"With 387,000 sold in the week ending Nov. 23, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Four earns the second-largest sales debut of the year, and the biggest week overall for a group," Billboard added.

This achievement toppled Taylor Swift's "1989" from the top position on the charts, Rolling Stone said. However, Taylor's album release was still this year's biggest debut at 1.2 million, while One Direction notched only 387,000.

Despite this, the publication observed, it appears the band's sales is following "a darker trend," as Billboard had predicted first week sales to reach 420,000. Last year's "Midnight Memories" had closed its first week with 546,000 copies sold.

"Maybe One Direction is preparing to pass the boy-band baton to 5 Seconds of Summer - conspicuously, 1D has zero singles on the Digital Songs chart or iTunes' Top Songs," the magazine went on to say.

Could manager Simon Cowell's forecast about the boys disbanding at some point in the future is about to become reality sooner than projected?

Despite this, the boys' recent chart-topping victory is still cause for celebration as it carved them a place in music chart history.

"Only two other groups in the chart's history to have seen their first four studio albums even hit the top spot were The Monkees and The Kingston Trio," Time noted.

Also, this news "tops up a big week for the band" as Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne managed to notch three awards at the 2014 American Music Awards, MailOnline said.

"The heartthrobs, who have released albums every year since 2011, won the biggest prizes including Artist of the Year, Favourite Band, and Favorite Album with their latest work, 'Midnight Memories,'" the British news source reported.

Recently, the boys caused many female Aussie fans' hearts palpitating as they attended the annual ARIAs and even performed at the event.
