Screams accompany One Direction wherever they go. Can they help it if they're one of the hottest boy bands on the planet?

Similarly, 5 Seconds of Summer also receives this kind of welcome, which could be taken as a positive sign for the new band's future.

As such, the sight and sound of 1D and 5SOS fans screaming at the boys has become a regular and not-so-surprising occurrence, just like that incident in the Land Down Under recently.

"One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) have brought fans to tears at Sydney Airport, even if they only got to see a tiny glimpse of the world famous pop stars," The Sydney Morning Herald said. "Both bands are star guests at the Australian Recording Industry Association Awards (ARIAs) being held Wednesday night."

"5SOS lived up to their name giving fans all of five seconds to collectively scream as their blacked out motorcade rolled past," the publication added.

Meanwhile, the boys of One Direction unfortunately did not take a moment to even wave at the waiting fans. They simply went straight to their vehicles while covering their heads with hoodies. Fans were probably too flustered to notice this, the rest of us non-1D devotees might assume.

However, based on some comments from the teenagers present at the airport, it appears a number of them drank in the scene down to the minutest detail, which includes the non-greeting.

"What a waste of my f---ing time," said one fan as the cars that ferried Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan out of the scene zoomed by. "We wasted a whole day of school to see one second of them."

Meanwhile, NT News reported that the same enthusiastic, albeit deafening, screams were heard by the boys once more as they stepped onto the red carpet later during the day when they arrived at the Event Centre at the Star for the annual ARIA Awards.

"The boys, all dressed in black suits except Horan - who wore a white shirt and black pants, chatted briefly to a select group of reporters before being ushered inside," the news source said.

At least they didn't rush into the venue this time.

"The band will go up against Sia and Iggy Azalea for Song Of The Year and cross their fingers for Best Group, Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Album," MailOnline said. "They will be performing their new song 'Steal My Girl,' which has topped the charts since its September release."

5SOS will also be performing at the event as the opening act, the British publication added.
