For as long as "Frozen" fans hearts' are still fervent, the clamor for a sequel will continue, even as Disney appears to be firm about not doing "Frozen 2."

Such a scenario can be considered a battle of wills - which one wins out in the end? Will Disney cave in at some point? Or will the fans slowly retreat to their own chilly mansions of utter resignation?

Recently, it's been learned that the Mouse House will release "a new short film featuring characters from 'Frozen,'" The Huffington Post said.

"It's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk," read a description quoted by the news source.

The short film will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who also helmed the original animated hit. Josh Gad, who is the voice behind Olaf the snowman, will also be back to reprise his role.

"No word from the studio if Gad or stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff (as respectively, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff) will reprise their voice roles for the short," The Huffington Post said.

This short, while not really a sequel, could satisfy "Frozen" fans thirst for more of the hit flick. But what if there will be more calls for a "real" part two after "Frozen Fever" is released in the spring of 2015? Will Disney cough up the much-anticipated sequel?

In related news, we've learned that Idina Menzel, whose pipes powered Queen Elsa's anthem "Let It Go," is going on a world tour. This fact excited fans so much that the Broadway star's website actually crashed "within 30 minutes of tweeting about the North American tour schedule," MailOnline said.

"I've been so excited to tell you. I'm hitting the road this summer! I can't wait to see you!" read her Twitter post about the upcoming tour.

About an hour after that tweet, she posted this message:

"You guys are amazing! Site crashed. Sorry about that but secretly happy you are excited about the tour!"

Broadway.com said that the "If/Then" actress will begin her tour on July 7 next year in Richmond, Virginia.

"She will then make stops in cities including New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Austin, Boston and Chicago before wrapping in Los Angeles on October 3 at the Hollywood Bowl," the site added.

Ticket selling will begin on December 5 at Idina's official website, as well as on Live Nation, according to Yahoo! Music.
