Sumo Digital finally released "LittleBigPlanet 3" for PlayStation 4 and 3 last week and the reviews are in. And it's been called "the most charming game of the year" by VentureBeat.

"LittleBigPlanet 3 is the least cynical game you'll play this year," the site said. "And don't worry about that warm feeling in your chest when you play it - that's just your heart melting."

LBP 3 is likely to stand from the pack, where console games are concerned, due to its "odd," uncommon theme, which is generally less violent and is without guns and exploding war paraphernalia.

"It's always been nice to know that in the middle of all of those bleak and cynical blockbusters, a game exists that lets you change a small yarn-person's expressions and move their arms around for no reason other than that it's fun to do," VB observed. "Games like LittleBigPlanet that celebrate creativity, sharing, and just plain happiness provide a welcome escape from the more brutal escapist entertainment that lines the shelves of your local big-box."

Meanwhile, IGN noted that the new installment of the game is "not quite sewn up."

"It is undermined by unimaginative co-op and a number of game-breaking bugs.," the site pointed out. IGN also noted that the game does have some charm and "wonderful brew of humor."

"There is more emphasis on story this time around, though. All the supporting characters in LittleBigPlanet 3 are now voiced, and cutscenes tell of an animated attack on the 'magnificent moon of wonder' planet called Bunkam that has sucked away its inhabitant's creativity," the tech news site also said.

The cons of the game is not surprising, given that Sumo Digital is not the original developer of LBP. The firm took up the game from Media Molecule, which made the previous iterations. Perhaps future updates will fix the problems in the game.

Basically, "Little Big Planet 3" brings back the "endearing" Sackboy. However, he's joined by "new, equally adorable companions: Oddsock, Swoop, and Big Toggle, who each sport abilities unique to them," GameSpot explained. This means there's more of this game to love, then.

The good news is that LBP 3 is "backwards compatible, meaning all purchased downloadable content for 'Little Big Planet' and 'Little Big Planet 2' will be usable in the game."

"To bring the content over, players can download all previously purchased DLC via Little Big Planet 3's in-game store at no extra cost," the site explained. "In addition, all items collected in previous games will carry forward to Little Big Planet 3. This includes every last costume piece, material, object, music tracks, and levels."

Tell us: will you be getting LBP 3? If you've done that already, how do you find it so far?
