Dinosaur fans celebrate: Universal Pictures just released the teaser for the upcoming "Jurassic World" and it looks a lot like the original - it looks back to the famous scene in the original film, making sure that it keeps its promise of dinosaurs heading our way.
So in how many ways did the teaser give us a "throwback" from the original film in 1993? Variety noted three ways:
It starts off with a shot of the classic Jurassic Park gate, although now, it reads "Jurassic World" instead, considering that the storyline called for a reboot of the iconic park.
It also shows a new version of the classic Jurassic Park scene, with the Gallimimus dinosaurs stampeding toward guests who are, luckily, in a car instead of running on foot this time.
And finally, the teaser uses a creepier version of the original "Jurassic Park" theme song by John Williams.
According to the teaser, the first full trailer will be released on Turkey day, and if you really want to catch its premiere, Variety also noted that it will be released during the Thanksgiving Football on NBC at 6PM PST or 9PM EST.
The original film was released in 1993, and according to CNet, the Steven Spielberg production was a pioneer on computer-generated special effects process. However, although the original spawned two other sequels, it has been awhile since anyone has seen what has been going on in the titular park.
According to The Verge, the recreation of some of the more iconic scenes may be a way to try recreating the magic from the original film, or it could be a way to generate more interest for the trailer and the film itself.
"Jurassic World" was filmed this summer in Hawaii and New Orleans, starring "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Chris Pratt, with Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, and Jake Johnson from "New Girl." BD Wong will also be reprising his role from the original film as Dr Wu.
Now on the fourth installment of the series, "Jurassic World" takes place on Island Nublar, 22 years after the events of the original film, with the dinosaur theme park now renovated, fully functioning, and upgraded. However, trouble comes when a genetically mutated dinosaur called the D-Rex became the horror feature that spread terror and chaos in the park.
