Not even the Cape Crusader and the Man of Steel are immune from the threats of the dreaded Ebola virus.

Apparently, filming for "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" in the northern African country of Morocco has been cancelled as the production crew got worried of the continuing spread of the Ebola virus in the continent, reported Tech Times.

Director Zack Snyder wanted to shoot some parts of the movie in Morocco as he and Warner Bros wanted to keep the film under wraps from the prying eyes of the American press.

But because of the increasing threat of Ebola in Africa, they decided to shoot in New Mexico instead, adds the report.

Tech Times notes that while it is indeed less expensive to film in New Mexico than in Morocco, and that the northern African country is still free from Ebola, many believed that it was wise for Warner Bros to play it safe than be sorry later on.

Filming in New Mexico shall feature mostly Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot who shall play Wonder Woman. "Pictures and videos so far have shown something that look similar to the Amazonian princes' home," cites Tech Times.

The report adds that Henry Cavill, who's playing Superman in the movie, could also be part of the filming in New Mexico.

But that is unlikely since Cavill already disclosed that he already completed filming his parts in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," points out Christian Today.

"This could mean that Cavill won't be heading down to New Mexico to film other parts of the movie. Sorry, New Mexico," notes Christian Today.

People are asking whether Ben Affleck, who will play The Dark Knight in the movie, will have a part in the filming in New Mexico. But nobody in the production are providing hints or disclosing additional details about it, says Tech Times.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016. Apart from Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot, the other cast members of the movie include Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and many others.

Jena Malone is also casted in the film although it is still not clear what role she would be playing. However, earlier rumors indicate that she will play the part of the female Robin, reveals Inquisitr.

After completion of filming, Warner Bros is expected to release an updated trailer. Watch the first trailer of 'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice":
