"The Lego Batman Movie," which is set to hit theaters in 2017, is going to come out with more than just one Batman as the producers plan to include all the film versions of the caped crusader, Movie Pilot reported.

"The Lego Batman Movie" will serve as a spinoff to "The Lego Movie," released in 2014. Chris Miller and Phil Lord, co-directors of the original film, spoke about the spinoff film's upcoming Batmen in an exclusive interview with Empire Magazine.

"Rest assured that every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged," Miller said. "There have been so many interpretations of Batman and there is so much to play with here. There are 40 versions of his origin story alone."

The Batman versions

Following Miller's words, some of the incarnations of Batman that viewers can expect include: Bob Kane of the Golden Age Era from 1939 to 1950, Adam West from ABC's Batman Series from 1966 to 1968, Batman of the Alan Moore and Frank Miller Era from 1986 to 1988, Tim Burton's Batman from 1989 to 1992, Batman of Batman: The Animated Series from 1992 to 1995, Joel Schumacher's Batman from 1995 to 1997, Christopher Nolan's Batman from 2005 to 2012, and more, according to Movie Pilot.

The complete synopsis and cast for "The Lego Batman Movie" has yet to be announced, but Will Arnett has been listed down as the voice of Batman / Bruce Wayne in the movie's official International Movie Database page.

"The Lego Batman Movie" is directed by Chris McKay, produced by Lord and Miller and written by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is also one among the slate of Lego movies being released by Warner Bros, according to Den of Geek. "Lego Ninjago" is slated for a 2016 release, followed by "The Lego Batman Movie" in 2017. The sequel, "The Lego Movie 2", will be released in 2018.

What fans can expect from the movie

During the interview with Empire Magazine,  Miller and Lord also talked about the idea of adding more spin-offs to "The Lego Movie."

"The thing is about these movies is that each of them have their own tone and their own voice," Miller said. "Each one of them feels like its own movie, but obviously they all exist in the universe that the Lego movie existed in, and so finding that balance has been part of the trick."

"It's like we started with The Avengers and now we're going to spin off and explore the different worlds, then come back," Lord added.
