Charles Krauthammer spoke "Special Report with Bret Baier" on Thursday calling for Republicans to keep calm and not "lose their heads" over United States President Barack Obama's immigration reform, Fox News reported.

Krauthammer, a columnist and contributor for Fox News, said that "This is an obvious attempt by the president to distract the Republicans, to enrage them, and to bate them into something that will undo the victory that they had on election day. This is a way to make the president relevant and to make him central."

He also noted that Obama and Washington's recent announcement on the immigration reforms ended up shifting away from discussions on issues such as the upcoming elections or the Republican agenda.

"What the Republicans have to do is to wait until they get control of the Congress to deal with this, but not to allow this override their one imperative," he said.

The conservative columnist already previously expressed his disagreement with Obama's immigration reforms during a previous interview on Fox News held Wednesday, Nov. 12 according to CNN.

"I believe it is an impeachable offense," he had said, and called it a "flagrant assault on the Constitution."

Krauthammer's remarks on impeachment at the time followed the claims by former Governor Sarah Palin, Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann, and Representative Steve King of Iowa, according to CNN.

Palin even wrote an opinion piece on Breitbart posted in July after Obama's first announced his interest in the immigration reform, asking for Obama's impeachment.

"It's time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment," she wrote. "The many impeachable offenses of Barack Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this he's not impeachable, then no one is."

Despite Obama's executive decision to enact reforms for the illegal immigrants of the country, he had, in at least 25 occasions, stated that such an action would be unfair to those who are vying for citizenship through legal means, according to People's Pundit Daily.

Obama mentioned "mass deportations" several times, and several of his other statements over the past years reportedly include:

"Mass amnesty would be unfair. Mass deportations would be impossible and unAmerican, and not in line with our values."

"It's about who we want to be. Are we a nation that values ripping children from their parent's arms?"

"Overall, the number of people trying to cross our border illegally are at its lowest point since the 1960s."

"Even though we are a nation of immigrants, we are also a nation of laws. And I believe undocumented workers who broke the law need to be held accountable."

Krauthammer has stated that based on these previous comments, Obama's executive order served to ignore the facts, the constitutional laws, and even his own statements, according to People's Pundit Daily.
