"The Sad" won't evade Real Madrid.

While the Ronaldo drama seems to be finished, Los Merengues continue to look unconvincing on the pitch as they lost their second game in four matches to drop eight points behind rival Barcelona for first place in the standings.

Not only did last season's La Liga champions lose the match, but they failed to threaten the opposition goal throughout the match's duration.

Real Madrid started a lineup that included Iker Casillas, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa, Sami Khedira, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Angeli Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, and Gonzalo Higuain.

Sevilla's starting lineup was composed of Andres Palop, Fernando Navarro, Emir Spahic, Cicinho, Alberto Botia, Jesus Navas, Gary Medel, Hedwiges Maduro Piotr Trochowski, Alvaro Negredo, and Ivan Rakitic.

Things got off to an awful start as Sevilla took a lead off a Piotr Trochowski blasted a shot into the upper right hand corner past Casillas in just the second minute. It was his first goal of the season. Rakitic assisted on the goal; his second of the season.

After that it was a sloppy affair as Los Merengues failed to generate chances and only ended the match with six shots on goal off 18 attempts. Their opponents managed 7 shots on goal in just 10 attempts.

The woeful Madrid boys will try to bounce back next week against Rayo Vallecano. With the win, Sevilla is now in third place on the table. They face Deportivo La Coruna tomorrow.
