US mega-retailer Target is laying claim that this year's big Black Friday retail sale will be its "biggest" and "most digital" ever, reports The Verge.

By "most digital," Target will be focusing on providing its customers with major discount deals on today's hottest gadgets including a hard-to-match offer of only $0.01 for a 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5.

Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S5 deal has a catch. It comes with a two-year post-paid contract with any of the three US telcos AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. Still, there's a hefty savings of $199.99, cites The Verge.

The retail store's Black Friday deals will become available to shoppers starting at 6 pm of Thanksgiving on November 27th but Target will be opening a window to early shoppers, points out PC.

The same deals will be available at Target.com during Thanksgiving morning for customers who want to get a shopping headstart or simply avoid the rush and inconvenience that Black Friday retail sales normally bring, cites the report.

"We know our guests are pulled in a million different directions as the holidays get underway. So we're helping them save time and money by offering more access to Black Friday deals," says Kathee Tesija, chief merchandising and supply chain officer of Target, in a statement.

"Whether shopping online, on their phone or in our stores, Target's guests will find Black Friday deals on top gifts throughout November. To deliver even more savings, all Target.com orders ship for free until December 20," the Target official added.

Dealnews reports that Target is apparently attempting to bounce back from a "nightmare Black Friday" last year so the mega-retailer is offering hard-to-beat deals this time around to entice shoppers back to its fold.

"From the looks of it, Target has done its homework (by) offering record-breaking deals on TVs, a never-before-seen sale on gift cards, and ultra-cheap video games," observes the report.

Pre-Black Friday Sale

Target also plans to offer a pre-Black Friday sale both in its retail stores and online starting on November 26. Shoppers are encouraged to check the mega-retailer's weekly ad, especially on November 23, to be able to know what specific deals will be offered in local Target stores, details The Verge.

The retail store chain will also offer exclusive discounts from November 23 to 29 through its free shopping app Cartwheel, available on Android and iOS. The discount deals include 50% off on a different toy every day during the seven-day period, 60% savings on select movie titles, and price cuts on bakeware and board games, the report added.

For the last-minute holiday shoppers, Target will also be open on Christmas Eve on December 24, from 7 am to 10 pm, cites The Verge.
