Now that Apple has spilled the official details of the iPhone 5's price, consumers can begin the tedious process of sifting through cryptic specs, pouring over feature lists, and saving money for a shiny new smartphone this fall.

But, consumers will not easily forget to consider the critically acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S3 this holiday season. With a three month head start, the S3 has already established itself as a market leader. Some may even be willing to settle for the iPhone 4 or 4S, depending upon budget concerns.

Here are all of the smartphone price details readers will need to craft a personalized "Pro" and "Con" list.

Let's start out with the iPhone 5. Just like the iPhone 4S, Apple's new device will come in three flavors: 16, 32, and 64GB. With a contract, the 16GB will go for $199, the 32GB for $299, and the 64GB for $399. Without a contract, the phone will cost $649.

Moving on to the Samsung Galaxy S3, readers will notice that carriers are offering discounts across the board to get the device in the hands of consumers en masse before the iPhone 5 supposedly devours the industry.

According to Amazon listings, Sprints users will be able to purchase a 16GB Galaxy S3 for only $119.99 with a contract. Verizon users in the market for the 16 GB Galaxy S3 will find an offer for a $149.99 on the retail site. The same 16GB Galaxy S3 will run an AT&T subscriber $179.99. The only 32GB Galaxy S3 on Amazon is carried by Verizon and listed at $249.99. Without a contract, the unlocked 16GB device is listed at $599.90.

Those looking for more of a throwback will be able to purchase the iPhone 4S for the freshly reduced price of $99. The iPhone 4 will now be free with a contract, making the brand widely accessible to those who have yet to make the jump to smartphones. The iPhone 3GS, however, has been discontinued.

Consumers can expect the iPhone 5 to join the Samsung Galaxy S3 on store shelves when September 21 hits.
