With five straight losses to start the NBA season, all eyes are on the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.

Next in the scrutiny line is Jeremy Lin, who, after earning starter status with the Lakers, has yet to dish out that superb performance while he was with the Knicks several years back that earned him the moniker "Linsanity."

With averages of 10.8 points and five assists per game, and a 38 percent field goal percentage in the first five Lakers game this season, Jeremy Lin's stats is the worst in his career since his 29-game rookie season with the Golden State Warriors, notes the Bleacher Report.

"Those aren't horrible numbers (for an NBA player), but they also don't measure up to the 14.6 points and 6.2 dimes he delivered with the Knicks," points out the report.

The Lakers acquired the remaining year of Lin's $25 million, three-year contract with the Houston Rockets, so the team is paying him nearly $15 million for him this season, details the Bleacher Report.

With that amount of money, the Lakers and its fans obviously expect more of him and his Linsanity.

He tried to relive his New York Linsanity days to the Rockets the last two NBA seasons but he simply did not fit into the system under Kevin McHale.

With a dismal performance in Houston, he was very cautious when he joined the Lakers last summer. During his press conference upon joining the Lakers, Lin was quoted as saying: "I'm not trying to recreate Linsanity or be that phenomenon that happened in New York. I just want to be myself more than ever."

While Bryant has been all praises for Lin thus far, the pressure is on him to become the Lakers' main point guard, especially now that Steve Nash is already out for the entire season.

After a heartbreaking loss with the Phoenix Suns, the Black Mamba was quoted as saying: "Lin was being more aggressive and taking shots. I think the biggest thing for him to learn is to play. The most important thing (for my teammates) is that they understand the relentlessness they have to play with."

In another article on Bleacher Report, Lin seems to be feeling the burden of being a major supporting cast member for Kobe.

After Bryant's pronouncement on relentlessness, Lin was also heard saying: "I give my all as well. I respect the fact that he (Kobe) gives his all, and we all know that he wouldn't be he who he is if he didn't give his all. But I give my all, and I know a lot of guys in the locker room give their all."

If it's not a defensive answer, Bleacher Report thinks it's a stubborn one.
