Thanks to Jennifer Lopez's memoir "True Love," that Bennifer affair got resurrected once more, plus with more information that made the recollection newsworthy. Well, at least in the entertainment news columns.

"In her new memoir, the thrice-married Lopez opens up about her 'tumultuous, passionate, and explosive' marriage to singer Marc Anthony, whom she hooked up with while on the rebound from her 'first real heartbreak' - Ben Affleck," the New York Daily News noted.

"In the book, titled 'True Love,' Lopez writes that'"it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest' after her split with Affleck," the publication continued. The singer actress also went on to reveal that she began to fall apart when she truly realized the "fairy tale family" ideal was not going to happen.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer hated the moniker "Bennifer," which was what the media and the public named the coupling. Well, don't look now but it appears to continue to grab headlines and public attention, even now.

With that, let's take a walk down "Bennifer" lane once more, with the help of USA Today.

Ben and Jennifer met early in 2002, which is 12 years ago, on the set of "Gigli," which Time also regards as "the accepted cultural marker for Bennifer's doomed partnership." The movie later became a certified flop, but it was on that project when sparks flew between the two.

In July of the same year, at Jennifer's birthday bash, the two were spotted "kissing in public for the first time." The "Batman" actor also gave the Latina beauty a diamond bracelet. She was still technically married to second husband Cris Judd then. But that snag was taken cared of quickly as the American Idol judge filed for divorce on that same month.

In November 2002, Ben made an appearance on the "Jenny From the Block" video, which a good number of observers deemed an "embarrassing" turn of event where the Oscar-winning scriptwriter was concerned. In this same month, Jennifer confirmed that the two are engaged, with her sporting a 6.1-carat pink diamond sparkler worth $1.2 million.

Later in July 2003, the couple promotes Gigli, with Ben reportedly going to a Vancouver strip club with celebrity friends.

Then, in August 2003, "Gigli" dropped in theaters and flopped in revenues, as it took in only $6 million. The movie's budget was pegged at $54 million.

Reports about a September 14, 2003 wedding emerged 10 days before it was about to take place, but on the 10th, the pair announced that the nuptials would be postponed due to "excessive media attention."

However, Jennifer was later seen days afterward spending time at her Miami place sans her ring, while Ben reportedly went gambling.

Then, in October, the duo was spotted on national TV watching a baseball game in Boston, prompting speculations that perhaps all is well with them.

But in January 2004, Jennifer was seen partying with ex P. Diddy in Miami while Ben promoted a movie in Europe. About 12 days afterwards, the two broke up.

End of the Bennifer saga.
