Will Tim Tebow be back in the NFL?

Right now, there's no confirmation on whether the 27-year-old will indeed be signed to an NFL team, prompting football pundits to speculate whether he does deserve another shot at pro play. He hasn't been very active in the league since 2012, especially after being cut from his last team, the New England Patriots, in August 2013. He's since been reporting on football.

"If he would be open to it, I'd bring him in as a tight end or H-back. He could make a nice career if he committed to those positions. He just doesn't have the skills necessary to play quarterback in the NFL," opined Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

"Considering he has as many playoff wins as Jay Cutler, Tony Romo and Andrew Luck, one could say he deserves a second chance in the NFL," College Footbal 24/7's Bryan Fisher began, as quoted by NFL.com. "But no, he does not. Tebow had his shot and clearly is not the refined passer that NFL offenses need under center. He should be pretty good on TV and would be much better off spending his time refining his broadcasting technique than his throwing mechanics."

Despite Tebow's hazy NFL prospects, the free agent sportsman said that his agent has "received a few calls from 'interested' NFL teams," according to NESN.

"He did not specify which teams, however, and didn't exactly seem like he expects to put the pads on anytime soon," the news source noted.

Fans and supporters of Tebow have not lost hope on his possible return to the NFL, though. With that, here is a list of 5 teams that could probably take him on:

Carolina Panthers

"I'm a big fan of his and he knows it. He has always given me fits when I've had to coach against him," Ron Rivera, head coach of the Carolina Panthers, was quoted by NESN as saying. "He's a playmaker and he plays a different kind of football. All the guy has ever done is win. ... He's one of those guys if you were struggling at quarterback, hey, why wouldn't you give him a shot?"

With this kind of endorsement, you wonder why Tebow isn't with the Panthers. Could it be because the team's decision makers aren't on the same page as Rivera where he's concerned?

St. Louis Rams

Sports Illustrated noted last year that the Rams might just be interested in taking on Tebow, especially after the team's QB sustained a serious injury. However, not long after the speculation made news, it was relayed that Tebow may not be likely to be signed to the Rams.

New England Patriots

In September this year, Medium's Steve Matoren sent out emails to 32 NFL owners asking the same question: "Why don't you want Tim Tebow on your team?"

Many did not respond, and among the few who did, the Patriots' owner, Robert Kraft, was the only one who gave "the most complete and dignified answer from any team." Here's what he said:

"If you recall, we did want him on our team. We signed him. We brought him to training camp. We gave him a chance to compete and to earn a spot on our roster. I was hoping that he would make our team. Clearly, he has enjoyed a lot of success as a football player. He is a great ambassador for our game, both on and off the field. I enjoyed getting to know Tim and felt like we shared a number of core values."

Unfortunately, Kraft apparently wasn't able to make his team's decision makers to take on Tebow one more time on his word, hence the athlete's continued free agency. But will they change their mind about him at some point?
