Xbox Gold subscribers can now whoop with joy - this month's free games for Xbox 360 and Xbox One have been released.

Xbox One owners will get to play "Volgarr the Viking" for free for the whole month of November, Christian Post said.

"'Volgarr the Viking' is normally sold for $9.99 and poses players as Volgarr facing a number of challenges," the site said. "This 16-bit hack-and-slash from Crazy Viking Studios will take Xbox gamers back to the days when games were designed to be nearly unbeatable and players are only given a few buttons to control."

However, Polygon said that the viking game is available "in certain regions only, including the U.K. and North America."

"Customers in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Russia and Taiwan will instead receive the full version of the Xbox One launch title 'Powerstar Golf'," the site said.

"For the Xbox 360 gamers among you, Games with Gold gets you two classics, both the highlights of their particular series: 'Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise' and 'Red Faction: Guerilla'," Microsoft said on its official Xbox site. "As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program - so find a buddy (or not), and jump in!"

The site describes the "Viva Piñata" sequel as still giving gamers control over their "garden paradise" and making it a home for "piñata companions." "You'll face challenges from the evil Professor Pester and his Ruffians, and you'll face even more just trying to please and attract new piñatas to your garden," the site added.

The game also features "better controls, more tools, and more robust multiplayer support than the original game." There's also the sandbox mode where you can make your own garden without worry and put in all the piñatas you want.

Meanwhile, "Red Faction: Guerilla" has the Earth Defense Force - the original heroes in the previous "Red Faction" iterations - playing the bad guys this time, as "have become corrupt, and are exploiting the miners and the good people of Mars."

"Using a variety of weapons and vehicles, players must take down the oppressive regime and set up new power structures in its place," Xbox.com said.

Aside from these free games, Microsoft is also offering certain games a reduced prices. Titanfall, for one, is now sold at half the price, while "Battlefield 4: Assault Shortcut Kit" is available with a 33% discount, Christian Post noted.
