Since it was announced in May that the "Power Rangers" will be getting a movie reboot, many speculations and predictions on the casting has been made. Liam Hemsworth and Chloe Grace Moretz were just two of the many names allegedly associated with the film project. It appears that these links may be traced to MTV's hypothetical casting of the hit TV series.

Early in May, MTV released an imaginary list of actors who will play key roles in the superhero flick. The site has named Liam to the Red Ranger role and assigned Chloe to Pink Ranger's uniform.

Apparently, some news outlets have caught on and began reporting that both stars are allegedly in talks to star in the reboot.

So, is there any truth to these reports?

"The funny thing about all these reports is I literally haven't even gotten one call about it," Chloe was quoted by E! News as saying during an interview in late September. "I keep hearing these reports that I'm apparently starring in a movie with Liam Hemsworth...which is cool, but I don't know the answer."

There you have it - there's no truth to the stories about Chloe being cast in "Power Rangers" as of the moment. In fact, there has been no confirmation made about the casting yet, save maybe for the Green Ranger, which will reportedly be played by Jason David Frank.

"I probably will be involved. They talked to me about it. I don't know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie," he told ComicBook.com in September. "They are so tight-lipped on that project, it's ridiculous. I don't even know my involvement into it. They talked to me about being involved, and the fans would love to see me involved."

Meanwhile, other reports have it that Liam Neeson is allegedly "tipped to take on the role of the Rangers' wise mentor Zordon, who exists in a glass tube as a floating head," The Irish Post said. Again, this bit of news has not been officially confirmed yet. Keep your eyes peeled and on this space for more updates!

The "Power Rangers" reboot will be shown in theaters on July 22, 2016. Lionsgate will be in charge of making the movie happen, as Saban, the series creator, trusts that the studio will be able to push the film to a commercial success that fans will appreciate.

"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from 'The Hunger Games' to 'Twilight' and 'Divergent.' In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy of its own," Saban said in a statement, as noted by Franchise Herald.
