Taylor Swift has recently been made New York's Global Welcome Ambassador, an event which unsurprisingly drew fire from some. Despite this, Tay remained focus on her new role and even announced she'll be giving back the proceeds of her track "Welcome to New York" to the city, according to ABC News.

As NY's ambassador, she recently visited the New York Knicks and even shot hoops with some of them. Apparently, this event is one more reason to be jealous of the singer's new designation.

TS was caught on video making her first ever dunk at no less than the Madison Square Garden. It appeared the feat was made during practice.

The clip begins with 6'10" Knicks forward-center Amar'e Stoudemire easily sinking the ball into the hoop and passed it on to teammate Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo then passed the ball on to the "1989" artist, who was clad in the Knick's white #13 jersey.

As Tay gingerly stepped closer to the hoop, Amar'e went behind her and hoisted her up and toward the hoop, allowing her to drop the ball with ease. This accomplishment got the 24-year-old clapping and skipping with glee, even giving Amar'e a double high five. Watching her reaction, you can't help but share her joy at the dunk and think, "When will we get that kind of assist from an NBA star?"

But that's not all there is to T-Swift's encounter with the Knicks. She and Amar'e apparently sang "Shake It Off" together and recorded the attempt on video, which was later played Wednesday, during the season's opener, USA Today said.

"Everyone felt a little embarrassed," the news source added.

"Watching Amare sing 'Shake it off,' I think I lost years off my life watching that," Twitter user Alex Brown tweeted.

Meanwhile, NY Daily News' Frank Isola tweeted, "MSG treating the game like the warm-up for a Taylor Swift concert."

He complained further in a second tweet about Taylor: "Seriously, does Taylor Swift fit the demographic for a majority of Knicks fans? Maybe the daughters of Knicks fans. Enough already."

SB Nation also talked about the incident: "She's suddenly the new sports trend sweeping the nation, and the NBA is no longer safe from it."

Well, as Tay sang, she'll just shake those comments off, including those that pertain to her appointment as Global Welcome Ambassador for New York. Some have complained that she's an "out-of-towner" and isn't really a local.

"Point is, the Swift promotions are not aimed at New Yorkers. They're aimed at people who live elsewhere," the New York Post pointed out. "We trust she will simply follow her own advice about all the hate - and shake it off."
