The "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" will revolve around the "Civil War" storyline, which is also a comic book series of Marvel.
Instead of fighting as a band of superheroes doing it for the common good of the people and the universe, the "Civil War" plot would ultimately divide the Avengers, reports IGN.
Fans would be pressured to take sides as it is a big part of the "Civil War" storyline of "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron,"
"We wanted the world perspective on the Avengers. They're being the Avengers and that's a global thing. It doesn't make everybody love them so we wanted to see both sides of that," says Director Joss Whedon.
The "Civil War" plot shall divide the Marvel superheroes into two factions. One side believes in the Superhero Registration Act of the US government. And the other group refuses to register themselves and reveal their identities, notes IGN.
In fact, "Civil War" is not just the storyline but the title of the third Captain America movie, says Screen Rant.
Since "Captain America: Civil War" would be released on May 1, 2016, it is expected that the plotline taken by "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" due to hit theatres on May 1, 2015, will carry through between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, and ultimately between Captain America and Iron Man, opines Screen Rant.
Global Approach
Director Whedon also disclosed that in addition to the "Civil War" storyline, what makes "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" take on a global approach is also its worldwide filming.
"Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" is a much bigger film in scope than the first outing," reveals Whedon.
He added that that filming for the Avengers sequel has taken their production to the Italian Alps, Seoul in South Korea, Johannesburg in South Africa, Bangladesh, and almost the entire England, notes IGN.
Whedon still found time however to lighten up when he said: "Weirdly enough, the entire film takes place in Cleveland," reports Screen Crush.
The site also added that Whedon is currently editing the film and admits that he misses working with his actors.
Screen Crush also cited that there are speculations that Whedon will not be returning to direct the first part of the "Avengers 3" due in 2018 as the project would go likely to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who helmed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
