Marvel's "Captain America 3" was supposed to meet head-on with DC's "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" in the tills with a similar May 6, 2016 playdate. Thatw as before DC decided to bump "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" to an earlier date on March 25, 2016.

With the playdate issue already out of the way, Marvel Studios has announced the official title of the third Captain America movie as "Captain America: Civil War," reports Variety

While superhero fans would sure to say that the combination of Batman and Superman is an overmatch to Captain America, Marvel stood firm with its bet. After all "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the second installment of the franchise, was a smashing success, making a $714 million worldwide haul, notes Screen Rant.

Civil War is also a comic book series of Marvel and the studio has creatively intertwined its storyline to Captain America's third movie, with a big plus. Apparently, Robert Downey Jr. and his Tony Stark's alter ego Iron Man will be playing a key role in "Captain America: Civil War," notes Variety.

And just like in the DC superhero movie, Captain America and Iron Man would not be in the same page in the Marvel film.

Variety hinted that Tony Stark will essentially play a villain of sorts in "Captain America: Civil War," as he and Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, feud over the Superhero Registration Act.

The law requires every superhero to reveal their identities. Stark has no problem complying as everyone knows he is Iron Man. But Rogers does since only a few know him as Captain America, forcing him to run to avoid being arrested by US authorities.

Marvel has yet to release an official trailer for "Captain America: Civil War."

Previous Title

Before confirming the official title to "Captain America 3," Marvel has previously announced that the movie would be titled "Captain America: Serpent Society," reports Screen Rant.

The previous title also had fans speculating whether Downey's Iron Man character would indeed be in the movie. That's aside from the fact that the Serpent Society is a less popular supervillain team compared to Hydra, Captain America's main nemesis, observes Screen Rant.

But that's not all. Apparently, Captain America's third movie will be split further into two, hints Screen Rant.

This early, rumors have it that the part two of "Captain America: Civil War" would be titled "Captain America: Infinity War."

That's effectively "Captain America 4" and Marvel has not released any information about it so far.
