Several reports have identified that Jaylen Fryberg is the teenager who opened fire in the cafeteria of Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Washington, on October 24. One girl died and four others were reportedly wounded in the gunfire. Fryberg killed himself after the incident.

Here are five facts about the murder-suicide.

1. Fryberg seemed to be a normal kid

According to ABC News, a junior student, Rachel Pomeroy, shared that she knew Fryberg and spoke with him the day before the incident. She said, "He was fine the day before. He was being sassy, as always, and good." On his Facebook page, he seemed happy in many photos, engaging in sports and being surrounded by friends. He was said to enjoy playing video games and listening to music.

2. He was quite popular in school

Compared to other shooting incidents where the perpetrator was usually an introvert, Fryberg was a well-known student. According to CNN, he was on the football and wrestling team. His social media account was active and he had several seemingly fun conversations with friends and family. He was also crowned the Homecoming Prince at their school dance on October 17, 2014.

3. His possible motive

Fryberg just came off a suspension before the incident, the Daily Mail reported. Although his real motive is not known, a friend reportedly said via Fox News, that he was extremely hurt by a recent breakup with his girlfriend. The two had been dating for two years and after they split, resorted to posting their feelings on social media.

4. He was angry at someone

In a report by Hollywood Life, Fryberg ranted at someone he referred to as his "brother", tweeting, "Dude. She tells me everything. And now. I fucking HATE you! Your no longer my "Brother"! It is unlikely that the person he was referring to was a family member. His real brother, Robert Fryberg, was shocked when he heard the news, tweeting, "I just heard some news and I pray to God that it is not true. I'm gonna miss you little bro. Only God can judge you."

5. His parents allowed him to own a gun

Although he reportedly used his dad's gun in shooting the students at school, his parents gave him one for his birthday. Jaylen posted a picture of his dangerous birthday present on Twitter with the caption, "Probably the best Birthday present ever! I just love my parents!" He received an 17HMR rifle for his birthday and used a handgun when the open fired, based on a Heavy.com report.
