"The man who can't breathe the man who lives in the vents I heard him saying your name last night. I heard him in your room while you were gone. He's in there right now standing in your room." Scared now? These are the exact words written on the teaser poster of "Insidious 3."

It was announced on its official Facebook page that the sequel is set to hit the theaters in May 2015.

For this new movie, "Insidious 1" and "Insidious 2" writer Leigh Whannell will now act as the director. James Wan, the director of the first and second movies, announced this on Facebook post that he is "truly honored and excited to pass the torch to his great bud." He also noted in the post that this will be the "directorial debut" of Whannell.

The new "Insidious" movie will definitely not be a continuation of the previous one. www.firstshowing.net reveals that the new "Insidious" movie is not a sequel but rather a prequel. The setting for this movie will obviously not be in the Lambert's house.

"A twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further," www.firstshowing.net shares.

A new cast has already been lined up and some characters in the first two movies are still on this third one. www.comingsoon.net said that Stefanie Scott will portray the teenage girl "who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity." The "Insidious" crew even welcomed Scott to their family through a photo posted on Facebook.

Several other photos posted on Facebook showed that Dermot Mulroney will also be in the new cast. Some returning cast members are Lin Shaye as psychic Elise Rainier and Angus Sampson who portrays Tucker.

So are you ready now? If you haven't watched the new trailer yet, you can watch it on cinemablend.com or you can check out Insidious' Facebook fan page. The trailer that was uploaded on Facebook has the caption, "The darkest chapter goes back to the beginning." A clear statement that this is really a prequel. You can check the official poster teaser here.

cinemablend.com commended the trailer saying that the use of images and sounds really "generate a good jump scare." It however added that it is quite disappointed that it would not be released during the Halloween season.
