Since the release of "Fallout 3" in 2008, game developer Bethesda Game Studios has officially mainatined its silence about the official release date of the fourth installation of the post-apocalypse video game, "Fallout 4."

However, lately, there have been rumors swirling around the gaming community indicate that the latest installment to the Fallout series will be released in October next year or sometime in early 2016, notes Breathecast in an October 11 report.

It was also reported that the game would be announced during the Penny Arcade Expo East event held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on August 29 to September 1 but it never happened, reports Crossmap.

Others speculates that Bethesda Softworks has already announced the game and its release date at the EGX Eurogamer Expo 2014 held in London last month behind closed doors, the report further said.

Todd Howard, game director of Bethesda Softworks, in an interview back in February was quoted saying, "We don't have a timeframe for our next game announcement. But I think it's gonna be a while," reports Hallels.

A total of six trailers of "Fallout 4," mostly fan-made, have also been uploaded in YouTube since October last year. But Bethesda vice president Pete Hines tweeted to followers to: "Ignore everything unless it comes from an official source/channel," Hallels noted.

Hallels also said that the official clarified that despite the what's circulating on YouTube or anywhere else, there is no Bethesda-sanctioned "Fallout 4" trailer yet.

At this point in time, what Bethesda can confirm is that there will be a "Fallout 4" which it already trademarked with the European Union sometime late last year, which IGN mentioned in a November 18, 2013 report.

After "Fallout 3," Bethesda released "Fallout: New Vegas" in 2010, Hallels said.

When it does come out, "Fallout 4" can be played in several platforms such as DOS, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Cloud (OnLive), cites Crossmap.

The game's availability on the PlayStation 4 has yet to be confirmed at this point but Crossmap thinks that it is very likely to hit the game console as well.

Hallels also noted that typical with today's current wave of next-gen video games or even those that have yet to officially hit the market, "Fallout 4" shall basically have the same minimum system requirements.

That requirement would likely include a Windows Vista (SP2) / Windows 7 (SP1) / Windows 8 OS, an Intel Core2 Duo/AMD Athlon 64 X2 @3GHz, Intel Core i5 @2.4GHz processor, with about 4GB RAM memory, Direct X 10 and DirectX 10-compliant, 512MB VRAM graphics and DirectX 10-compliant sound, plus, a 20GB hard drive space, the site added.
