The Season 5 Episode 2 of "The Walking Dead" entitled "Strangers" started lightly, composed mainly of discussions. However, it is usually expected that the next episodes would turn gory as it progresses.

Since the second episode was mostly "multiple, one-on-one ruminations," Time magazine author Matt Vella suggested that it should've just been entitled "Meditations" or "Aphorisms."

Several discussions among Carol, Tyreese, Rosita, Abraham, Bob, Sasha, Carl, Rick, and Daryl have been highlighted in the episode.

The episode, Forbes said, starts with the group travelling back to the woods after escaping Terminus' "massive zombie horde" and cannibals. While travelling, they heard somebody calling for help. A tension between the show's protagonist, Rick, and his son Carl eventually arises. Carl said he wanted to help that person regardless of who he is. Rick, on the other hand, becomes too cautious, reminding the youngster that he is never safe. Carl then argues that "they are strong" and could even help other people.

Bob, meanwhile, appears to be the more positive one saying that it is just a "nightmare" that could always end. Michonne, on the other hand, tries to prove that she is not materialistic, saying she is not missing her samurai and that who she misses are her friends who were already killed.

In this episode, they met a new character -- Father Gabriel Stokes, being portrayed by Seth Gilliam. Gilliam is also known as Sergeant Ellis Carver on HBO's "The Wire." Time said Gilliam portrayed Gabriel "brilliantly."

Father Gabriel invites the group to the church and to a warehouse to get some food supplies. It was also seen that there were walkers in the warehouse. Upon seeing a walker, Gabriel immediately panics. This is why Time described Gabriel as "pacifist," "anxious," "frightened," and "barfy." He also claims he had never killed a person or a walker before.

While some of the group went to the warehouse, Eugene and Abraham, on the other hand, find themselves fixing a bus. They both see this as their only means to travel to Washington.

Rick feels that the priest hides something so he eventually shows signs that he does not trust him. It came to a point that Rick even threatened Father Gabriel that he would kill him if he tries to threaten the group.

The episode, Time said, ended with cliff-hangers. Carol and Daryl discovered the car that kidnapped Beth last season. Bob was taken by Gareth and some Terminus members. However, it was speculated that Bob may have been bitten by one of the walkers and may possibly be infected. Gareth and his companions may not be eating "the finest quality meat" afterall, as Time puts it. According to Time's zombie kill report, a total of 18 zombies were killed this time.
