The teaser for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is officially out and it looks like the latest edition of the first-person shooter video game will be a sure-fire hit.
Activision released the slam-bang gameplay trailer on October 19, more than two weeks ahead of its official launch, reports The Thread.
The video game will be released officially on November 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, cites Gamespot.
Gaming enthusiasts, however, can pre-order the game on all platforms one day before through its Day Zero edition, which is a special version that comes with in-game bonuses, Gamespot details.
The early editions of the video game have been known for its explosive set pieces which Activision also made full use of in "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare." It was quite evident in the 78-second official gameplay trailer.
Aside from fast-paced action, the teaser also featured clips of Kevin Spacey, who plays Jonathan Irons, the game's main villain, notes The Thread.
Spacey's character in "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is the founder and CEO of Atlas, the world's most powerful private military corporation in a futuristic setting.
Atlas has tilted the balance of global power with its clandestine operations using the most advanced technologies in the planet, posts IGN in an earlier report.
Gamespot also points out how Kevin Spacey, as the main villain, mentioned why the game is aptly titled that way. He was quoted in the gameplay trailer as saying: "What you're seeing here is advance warfare," with a drone zooming by in the backdrop.
The trailer even included a couple of one-liner comments from video game reviewers, the most notable of which is that from Forbes, which reads: "... Transcends the line between game and film..."
In the Gamespot report, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg explained why the gameplay trailer was launched earlier than the its official release date.
The move, he said, will enable developers to have more time to create new features of the game. Aside from having more time to polish the game, Hirshberg believes that the trailer will further promote the brand and push it forward to gamers, Gamespot reports.
Although "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is presented in a first-person shooter perspective, it can be played as a single player or multiplayer mode.
