It's almost certain that the Apple press conference tomorrow at September 12 will be about iPhone 5. While the media invites only said "It's almost here," there's no denying that the mysterious "5" shadow refers to the next-gen iPhone.
The same report which first broke earlier this summer about a September 12 Apple iPhone 5 event also stated that pre-orders should also begin on September 12, with a September 21 release date.

More evidence for a September 21 release date comes from the fact that both Verizon and AT&T have made September 21-30 vacation blackout dates for their employees.
This timeframe falls in line with previous iPhone launch schedules.
The iPhone 5 should be the biggest overhaul to the iPhone's design in the last couple years. It will feature a taller 4-inch screen and should be running iOS 6. The handset should also be the first iPhone to support 4G LTE.
While the bigger screen will make the iPhone 5 taller, leaked images show that phone won't be wider. It should allow for 16:9 viewing.
The iPhone 5 is expected to launch on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. The iPhone 5 also probably won't be called the iPhone 5. Pictures from a printing press show that Apple will be branding the handset as "The new iPhone."
Early rumors said that the iPhone 5 would have a NFC chip that could allow for wireless payments. The iPhone 5 will also introduce a smaller nano-SIM card to better utilize its internal space.
Apple's iOS 6 will introduce an improved Siri, Facebook integration, and Apple Maps.
Apple is also expected to launch the iPad Mini, but it is looking more likely that they will hold a seperate event sometime in October.
