Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers is quickly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. His popularity continues to grow after each game and fans continue to search for more interesting bits of information about him.

According to Bet.com, Colin Rand Kaepernick was born on November 3, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is of mixed ethnicity, with a blonde mother and an African-American father. His father left before he was born and allegedly, Colin never met his birth mother in person. He was put on adoption by his birth mother and adopted by couple Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, who already had two children.

He started playing football when he was only eight years old. He became the starting quarterback of his youth team a year later. Bleacher Report stated that when Colin was in fourth grade, he wrote, "I'm 5'2, 91 lbs and a good athlete. I think in 7 years I will be between 6ft. to 6-4, 140 lbs. I hope I go to a good college in football, then go to the pros and play on the Niners or the Packers, even if they aren't good in seven years."

An infograph on the Bleacher Report revealed that Colin was academically excellent, having a 4.1 GPA while attending John H. Pitman High School in Turlock, California. He also played football, basketball and baseball in high school. He turned down several baseball scholarships and decided to focus on becoming a professional football player, getting a scholarship for football at the University of Nevada in 2006. In 2009, Colin was drafted by the Chicago Cubs but turned down the opportunity to play pro baseball. In 2010, he was chosen as the University of Nevada Wolf Pack Offensive Player of the Year.

On April 29, 2011, Kaepernick was the fourth pick in the second round (36th overall) by the San Francisco 49ers. Since then, the quarterback did not disappoint, garnering a quarterback rating of 97.9, averaging 6.4 yards per rush and completing 62.3 percent of passes. His longest rushing gain was 57 yards. He had a career highlight on January 12, 2013 against the Green Bay Packers by accumulating 181 total rushing yards, the most single-game rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history. He broke Michael Vick's record in the process.

As for Kaepernick's personal life, he was baptized Methodist and attended a Baptist church in Reno, which explains why many of his tattoos are Christian bible verses. In a report by Christian Post, his first tattoo was Psalm 18:39, written on a scroll on his right shoulder. He has tattoos on both arms, shoulders, chest and back. He was rumored to have dated Teyana Taylor. He was also investigated for sexual assault in April 2014.
