Here's some good news to all Diablo players! "Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls" has already been updated with the new 2.1 patch.

Game Informer said the update, which is now available on Playstation 4 as well as on Xbox, means some new features and gameplay elements.

According to a report by The Bit Bag, the update was announced by Stephanie "Lylirra" Johnson, community manager of "Diablo III", through a blog post at the Playstation site. The patch 2.1.0 for "Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition" was released by American video game developer Blizzard Entertainment.

"The first major content update for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition is coming today! We're so excited to deliver patch 2.1.0 to PS4 and can't wait for you to venture into The Vault, explore the murky corners of The Cesspools, level up your Legendary Gems, and find out just how far you can push your hero in Greater Rifts," Johnson said in her post dated October 7.

She then enumerated some of the new features included in the patch 2.1.0.

First on her list is the new "What's New" screen. Johnson said the update has this new screen which pops out when a player logs into the game. The gamer must have to press "Start" at the Main Menu. Gamers can see a quick overview of the new features included in the patch through the screen.

Another new feature is "The Vault." Johnson said in her post that The Vault is a new realm where "mighty treasures" such as gold and gems can be found. This new portal however, only appears whenever Treasure Goblins, small demons that steal loot and glittery things, are killed. "The Vault" also serves as the home of Sanctuary's newest boss -- the Baroness Greed. Treasure Goblins serve the Baroness Greed.

Johnson noted in her post that portals to The Vault can only be accessed when playing in Adventure mode. The portals also do not appear inside Nephalem Rifts or Greater Rifts.

Next on the list are Greater Rifts. Johnson said in her post that Greater Rifts, higher level of Nephalem Rifts or special dungeons which can be accessed through the Nephalem Obelisk, were also added in the patch 2.1.

According to diablowiki.net, a Greater Rift equates to a Nephalem Rift in size, monster density, and even layout. The difference, however, it says, is that Greater Rifts should be completed within 15 minutes to advance and each level will be more difficult than the previous one.

Having finished one Greater Rift, Johnson said, would enable the player to choose one of the two rewards -- upgrade the player's Legendary gems or proceed to the next Greater Rift level. Gamers can continue proceeding to the next Greater Rift level provided that they have completed the current Rift level within the given time limit.

Another new feature is the Cesspool, a new environment players can experience while venturing in Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts.

Also included in the new patch is the Ramaladni's Gift which gives players the chance to use and add socket to any of their weapons that do not have one.

Lastly, Legendary Gem, a new gem type which can be dropped in Greater Rifts and The Vault and when socketed into rings and amulets gives powerful abilities to the characters, was also one of the new features.
