Samsung Galaxy S6 may be released sooner than planned as the Korean tech giant seeks to rebound from its disappointing third quarter earnings.

Samsung is putting itself in a good position to bounce back on the fourth quarter, where consumer spending is at peak due to the Holidays, and also the first quarter of next year.

Christian Today has reported that Samsung could have been through its worst quarter, profit-wise, due to stiff competition from Apple and other promising companies like Xiaomi.

"Samsung had moved up the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to end-September in order to help boost the dipping earnings of the company," said the Christian Today report.

The company's flagship phablet is now available in Korea and will hit the retail market in other countries this October. But Samsung still needs more reinforcements, the report noted.

Christian Today noted that the release of Samsung Galaxy S5 in September could help boost the sales of the company. The S5 has been released to compete head-on with Apple's iPhone 6, to complement the fight of its big brother, the Galaxy Note 4, with the iPhone 6 Plus.

But is seems that another reinforcement is in order as Christian Today also reported that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is due for release on February 2015 at the IFA 2015 event. It will most likely hit store shelves the following month.

In a September 18 report by Techradar, it was mentioned that since the launching of Samsung Galaxy S2, the company has always announced its smartphones on or close to the Mobile World Congress.

The 2015 MWC is slated on March 2-5 next year, so the Samsung Galaxy S6 may be announced before or around that dates, Techradar said.

But given Samsung's profit projection predicament, the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 may be earlier than March 2015.

Powerful and Sturdier

While Samsung has not released any official details yet, pundits have got wind of rumours that the Galaxy S6 will pack a sturdier and more durable metal casing.

Christian Today said that the Samsung flagship phone will have upgraded features including a more powerful processor, a new mobile operating system and a better camera.

Techradar also noted that Samsung will likely use its Super AMOLED screen for the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Samsung has already rolled out the 2560 x 1440 resolution on Galaxy Note 4, and the QHD Galaxy S5 LTE-A for smaller screen sizes. Samsung Galaxy S6 would have an equal if not better resolution than those, said Techradar.

In terms of price, there aren't any noteworthy rumors for the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Techradar assumed, however, that it would be more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S5 which was priced at $972 during its launch last month, SIM free. "We'd be surprised if Samsung went much higher than $1,000 for Samsung Galaxy S6," the outlet posed.
