Running out of ideas for Halloween 2014? Don't panic - we've got a bunch of costume ideas that your kids can use just in time for the annual trick or treat activities.

According to myFOXLA.com, a survey done by the National Retail Federation found that the top 2014 Halloween costumes of choice among children are the following:

1. Princess

2. Animal

3. Spider-Man

4. Frozen Character

5. Action/Super Hero

6. Batman Character

7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

8. Witch

9. Pirate

10. Superman

Perhaps your kids may want to dress as one of these top 10 choices. But if you're able to talk them into wearing something more unique and uncommon, we've also got something below to help you build on that idea.

A "Frozen" Halloween

If your kids are just some of the millions around the world who are big fans of the animated Disney flick, you may have to oblige to their wishes to dress up as Princess Anna or Queen Elsa. This is no surprise - "Frozen" characters are on top of the costume trends, according to Oregon Live. You don't need to buy one for a thousand dollars on eBay - you can make one right at home! You still have time, anyway, as Halloween is still more than 3 weeks away.

Sweet Idea

You can dress up your little one as cotton candy - this option is easy enough to make as you'll only need pillow stuffing that has been spray painted pink and hot-glued to pink tights, pajama sets, or separates of a similar pink hue.

Turtle Crazy

If the recent "Teenage Ninja Turtles" reboot has got to your kids, create a similar look for them with this easy DIY option. You can even get your boy to help out.

Lego We Go

That "LEGO" movie should be your inspiration for this idea, which is so easy to make you'll be able to finish it within a day. That is, if you'll follow this tip from Metro.

Stand Out Ideas

How about dressing your tyke as Groot? Or as Carl from "Up"? These characters are quite uncommon, with many kids going as some superhero or another on Halloween. There are DIY variations of the first option that you can try, such as this one. Or you can figure out how to make your one based on these photos.
