One of the most wholesome shows in the late 90's was WB's "7th Heaven", but behind the scenes, less than wholesome things have allegedly happened, and from the man who played a reverend, nonetheless.

In light of a child molestation scandal by one of the show's former stars, UP TV, a cable network that according to TV Line regularly airs the family drama, is not standing by actor Stephen Collins.

Collins played the role of Reverend Eric Camden on the show, which ran for 11 seasons between 1996 to 2007.

A tape of the actor from 2012 was released by TMZ, where the actor allegedly admitted to molesting several children. In the tape, a voice identified as Collins' was heard, saying "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis." By "her", he is believed to be referring to an 11-year-old relative of his first wife, Marjorie Weinman.

This admission was reportedly recorded during a session with a therapist back in 2012, said TMZ, but has only come to light now. Needless to say, it has resulted in a backlash from Hollywood and fans of the show.

Charley Humbard, the president and CEO of UP TV said in a statement, "As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins. 7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network.

"We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today. We will continue to monitor the situation and listen carefully to our viewers. Replacing 7th Heaven tonight will be Supernanny, a series dedicated to bringing families together."

Entertainment Weekly then reported that after the allegations came to light, the actor was dropped from his role in "Ted 2." The filmmakers did not comment on the issue, but representatives for the film have confirmed that Collins will no longer be appearing in the talking teddy bear film sequel.

It has not been made clear whether or not Collins' role will make a big impact on the film, but according to the website, the reps think it's small enough not to make any major disruptions.
