Nintendo has announced that "Super Smash Bros" for Wii U will officially hit the North American market on November 21 and December 5 for Europe.
The announcement came after months of suspense and anxious moments in the gaming community as Nintendo listed the game as merely a "Holiday" release, reports the pop culture blog of Dallas News.
With the Holidays fast approaching and still no official release date in sight, gamers became worried that the launching of 'Super Smash Bros' on Wii U would be pushed back to 2015. That would have been a big downer for Wii U come Christmas time, cited the Dallas News pop culture blog.
In a related report in Forbes, it was even mentioned that the lack of official release date for 'Super Smash Bros' in Wii U has become a running joke in the industry, given Nintendo's history of delays. But with a specific date of release already announced, Nintendo is now enjoying the last laugh.
"Nintendo recognized the importance of getting 'Super Smart Bros' for Wii U out for the Holiday and it's fantastic they're able to release it as promised," notes the Forbes report.
The Wii U version of the "Super Smart Bros," will be as awesome as its 3DS counterpart, only on a bigger screen and with better controls.
As an enhancement to Nintendo's existing GameCube controller, Dallas News also announced that Nintendo will be launching on November 21, an adapter specifically for the game that will retail at $19.99. The "Super Smash Bros" - branded GameCube controller, which Nintendo would release on the same date, would retail for $30.
Gamers have the option to buy the game, the adapter, and the special "Super Smash Bros" - themed controller at a bundle price of $99.99.
Nintendo has likewise announced that the first wave of amiibo figurines would also be released on November 21. Amiibo are toys in the same make up as "Skylanders" or "Disney Infinity." They are physical objects that will interact with a variety of Nintendo games including "Super Smash Bros," cites the Dallas News blog.
The first batch of Nintendo amiibo figures shall feature 12 characters including Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth. Each figurine will retail for $12.99.
The Dallas News pop culture blog also added that the second wave of six amiibo figurines would be arriving in December.
