'NBA 2K15' New Gameplay Modes: Jordan Rec Center, Stage Mode & MyPark

As NBA 2K15 draws closer to its big launch on October 7, its game developer released more gameplay modes on October 1.

Bleacher Report wrote that a new video was featured by 2K Sports which unveiled the MyPark, The Stage and Jordan Rec Center modes. The new modes will mix well with the backstory of the game as well as provide a unique and exciting new platform for online gamers. Players can make teams with friends and other people online using their MyPlayers. They can choose between playing at the Jordan Rec Center and a street court.

Previously, Chris Smoove's face was scanned and featured in a trailer which provided the backstory of the upcoming game. Compared to previous versions of NBA 2K, the latest version will have the MyCareer character start undrafted, so he has to establish his reputation off the NBA court and work his way to play in the professional league. The community-centered games and modes would blend well with the storyline.

In MyPark mode, players have the chance to step out of the hardwood and into the community where they battle for street supremacy. Gamers get to choose among three teams. First is the Old Time Flyers, which features flashy plays and excellent playmaking. Second is the Rivet City Rough Riders, which is known for their aggressiveness and physical play. Third is the Sunset Beach Ballers, known for their precision in outside and inside shooting.

The new Squads feature allows gamers to play as a team and step into the Jordan Rec Center anytime, based on a report by Hardcoregamer.com. At the new center, teams can play 5-on-5 games for four quarters, complete with NBA rules and game officials. The video commentator stated, "NBA 2K15 is all about communities and representing your home turf."

Also, a spin-off mode called "The Stage", was introduced, which comprises a group of courts where gamers can test their skills as well as wage virtual currency with other MyPlayers teams. According to the video by YouTube personality Chris Smoove, The Stage is exclusive only to the PlayStation version for the first 30 days. PlayStation provides the highest limit of 45,000 VC per game. The PlayStation version of NBA 2K15 comes with the free 10,000 VC pack. Pre-ordering the game provides an extra 5,000 VC. A MyTeam card pack is also available for PlayStation Plus members. The game will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox360, Xbox One and PC.
