Halloween, a.k.a. the perfect holiday to unleash fun and creativity, is just around the corner. Everyone else would be going as Elsa and Anna, so you have to come up with an awesome and unique trick to stand out. Here are some Halloween costume ideas to help you get inspired.

Myrtle Snow from "American Horror Story: Coven"

If you are a TV geek, then you should seriously consider this Halloween costume idea from Popsugar. What you need to capture her look is a big crimped red wig, cat-eye glasses, and layers of clothing composed of scarves, a big skirt, and a pair of gloves. Channel your inner witch by copying Myrtle's eccentric but amiable vibe.

Jellyfish

This DIY costume idea from Huffington Post can be achieved through a clear plastic umbrella and streamers and glow sticks for the tentacles. Also, wear white. This looks too simple, but it would make everyone turn their heads towards you in the dark.

Pregnant Zombie

Sure, zombies are a common staple when it comes to Halloween costumes. But an article from Mental Floss shows Amanda Fite put a twist to this norm when she went as a pregnant zombie at the 2009 Texas Frightmare Zombie Walk. (She was even carrying a zombie fetus with half a head!) A series of photos from Amanda's Facebook page offers glimpses on how she conceived this creative costume.

The Firefox Logo

If you think you can only dress up as a fictional character from your favorite TV show or movie, then think again. Firefox is a website that has recognizable features, as what Mental Floss says. All you need to wear are orange stuff -- from fox ears to a furry tail and clothing. And also a blue ball to hold onto just like what's in the logo. Mental Floss also adds that this costume was featured in a Crunchgear contest.

Bath Puff

This another DIY creative idea from Popsugar is a breath of fresh air from those scary and bloody costumes you so frequently see. Acquire this look by buying some tulle from a fabric store and sew it up to form an outfit. Wear a tank top and shorts underneath it and voila! You are now a human loofah. To accessorize, wear a headband with a rubber duck attached to it and hold a packet of bath soap, just like this Instagram user did.

Silent Film Star

Aside from wearing an outfit that resembles clothing from the 1930s to the 1960s, this black-and-white film star costume also from Popsugar can be copied by wearing white body and face paint. Also, use black lipstick and eyeshadow and carry around a small vintage board that you can write on in case someone wants to speak with you.
