'The Walking Dead' Spin-off Cast Announced as AMC Orders Pilot

As if The Walking Dead couldn't get any bigger, AMC has pushed the envelope by ordering a brand new pilot for a spinoff series. As many fans have noted, they are immensely curious about what else is going on in the world of The Walking Dead. While the orignal show follows around Andrew Lincoln and the gang, there must be other humans all over the world who are dealing with similar trials. AMC hopes that a spinoff series will further delve into the zombie-plagued world and help bring to light the plights of other groups of survivors.

According to TVLine, these are a list of the new characters that are being proposed for the spinoff series. Keep in mind that AMC has only ordered a pilot, so depending on the success of one episode; AMC will decide whether to continue on in their quest to produce a brand new series.

SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.

CODY CABRERA | Sean's whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.

NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirty something single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there's an edge to her.

NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy's screwed up teenage son. He's too old to stay home, too scared to flee.

ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy's mostly levelheaded teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother's failures. She loves her mom but it's time to get out of Dodge.

ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea - yep, another Andrea! - Has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.

The original comic book creator Robert Kirkman will be writing the pilot and possibly the new series, so fans can expect for the finished product to be as authentic as possible. Sometimes with new series, new writers are brought in and fans can easily tell that their favorite concepts have been ruined.

"There are many corners of The Walking Dead universe that remain unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans are anxious to hear what Dave and I have been cooking up for this new universe of The Walking Dead, and I'm happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them," Kirkman said in a press release.
