iPhone 7 2015 Release News & Wishlist: What We Hope Apple Includes in the iPhone 7

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have almost been out for two weeks, and that means it's time to start looking forward to the iPhone 7. No, seriously. People are already talking about the Samsung Galaxy S6, which isn't due out until next spring. So, there isn't any reason we can't start looking forward to what Apple will deliver next year, and after all of the mistakes Apple made with the launch of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 8, they are also probably eagerly looking forward to what comes next. 

So without further delay, here's our wishlist for next year's iPhone 7.

Sapphire Glass

The months leading up to the iPhone 6 launch were filled with speculation that Apple would be covering the display of its new phone with the tougher and higher quality sapphire glass. Sadly, the only components of the iPhone 6 that featured any sapphire glass were the camera lens and the Touch ID sensor. Yawn. People spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on their iPhones and they expect to get absolute best in materials. Nothing bums people out more than seeing a scratch or crack in their new phone's screen. Sapphire glass is more resistant to scratches and cracks than traditional glass. Come on, Apple. Make it happen.

Wireless Charging

Apple made sure to let us know during its keynote presentation back on Sept. 9 that the Apple Watch would support wireless charging. But what about the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus? Nope. Mose high-end Android phones have supported wireless charging for at least two years now. Being able to throw your phone on to a charging pad instead of having to find a wire and fiddle around with plugging it in would be a huge time saver. Plus, it's just cool.

True HD

While Apple claims the iPhone 6's screen is the best they've ever made, it's not true. The iPhone 6 Plus' screen is the best one they've ever made because it actually has a 1080p full HD resolution. The iPhone 6's screen is closer to 720p, which is not bad--if this was 2010. Come on Apple. Claiming that pixel count doesn't matter but then slowly upping your pixel count (at half the rate of your competitors) is really dumb. Give us the pixels; we want the pixels. 

Waterproof Rating

It's hard to believe Samsung actually beat Apple to achieving one of the most coveted smartphone features: being waterproof. Not having to worry about dropping your camera in the pool while spending time with friends and family would be great. And if Samsung did this 6 months ago, why isn't Apple doing it? Do they not want to be perceived as copying Samsung? Probably. But that's the wrong reason not to give your customers what they want. 

More Battery, Please

Enough with the thinner phones every year. They are thin enough, and maybe even too thin. Many Apple fans would gladly sacrifice a few millimeters of thinness for another day of battery life. iPhones used to be the king of long battery life. Over the past two years or so, that has all changed, and Apple is now looking up at its competitors who've somehow managed to cram better specs and longer lasting batteries into their phones.
