GoPro has finally confirmed Monday that the company will be releasing not just one but three new models of its sports cameras come October 5, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The three new releases -- GoPro Hero4, GoPro Hero4 Silver, and GoPro Hero4 Black -- are all "higher-end models that shoot higher-quality photos and video at faster frame rates." What's even more appealing is that the entry-level unit, Hero4, is priced at $130, which is considerably cheaper than previous GoPro models. And it's no less capable than its pricier counterparts.

With this new line up, it's apparent GoPro is giving us more reasons to love -- or more like buy -- the latest releases.

Hero4 Black sits at the top of the tier among these three gadgets and is the most expensive of the lot at $500. It also has features geared towards "professionals who are already kitted out with GoPro rigs," WSJ noted.

This high-end model can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second. Its predecessor, Hero3+ Black, can only do so at 15fps, Wired observed.

"It has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connecting to a phone or a GoPro remote, and GoPro says its new audio capture system will deliver better quality than the Hero3+ Black -- that is, if it's not wrapped in the waterproof case, in which case it's still limited to clicks and rumbles," the site continued.

However, this model does not have touchscreen controls but the same buttons found in all other GoPro models. "Touch screen or not, that extra video talent is what brings up the price," WSJ noted.

Hero4 Silver, priced at $400, has the distinction of being the first GoPro to feature touch screen controls at the back of the device.

"The Silver can record 2.7K video at 30fps, 1080p video at 60fps, and 720p video at 120fps," The Verge said. "Both the Black and Silver models include built-in Wi-Fi, are waterproof to 131 feet, and are able to capture photos at 12MP too."

Hero4 is "pretty much the same as what we've seen in GoPros from the year's past," according to WSJ. It can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps or 720p clips at 60fps. Photos register at 5 megapixels with 5fps burst mode. This entry-level model also can do 2.5 hours of recording time.

Although no specific figures were given, GoPro said that the Silver and Black models have just about the same battery life as their Hero3 predecessors.

Will you go out and get yourself a GoPro when the new models go on sale on October 5th?
