After three years of togetherness, singers Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo have gone their separate ways, The New York Daily News reported.

No more crooning "Marry Me," Jason? Or will you be doing that to another lady?

A source claimed that the split was not due to either party cheating - their hectic schedules reportedly got in the way.

"It just wasn't working out. It was a lot of travel and hard to work with their schedules," an insider told Us Weekly.

Days before the split hit entertainment news headlines, MTV suspected that things were not as rosy as it was for the couple, even though they came in color-coordinated attire in last month's MTV Video Music Awards. Jordin had tweeted September 15 that she had written "the saddest song of my life."

And we thought they were heading towards the next step after Jason released "Marry Me" a year ago in September 2013. He said at the time that Jordin inspired the song.

The "Talk Dirty" artist later confirmed the news after admitting during a KDWB radio interview that he and his longtime ladylove have split up, the Daily Mail noted.

"Everything is cool man. It's not a bad situation, it's not one of those kinds of things," Jason said about the post-breakup scenario.

E! News said that when he was asked early last month whether he was planning to propose to the American Idol champ, he said he would "when the time is right."

"I knew that [he wanted to be with her longterm] pretty early on. I felt that when I was in the hospital with my neck injury...I felt different...I felt like I needed her in my world," he explained.

The singer, however, admitted also in August that he and Jordin go through problems "just like anybody else."

It looks like they were unable to recover from those "problems." Both have reportedly agreed to remain friends, though.

The news comes as a shock to fans of both artists, given their openness about their relationship and their affectionate demeanor during the MTV VMAs last month.

However, "things looked off for the pair when Derulo partied with Jamie Foxx and Robin Thicke at his friend Richie Akiva's birthday party at 1OAK in Los Angeles on September 18," the Daily Mail said. "Jordin was nowhere in sight."

This incident could have probably sparked cheating rumors.

On September 14, Jordin was observed tweeting about her emotional state, which clued the rest of us that there indeed was trouble in paradise, leading to the split.

"Football is the only thing making me smile today. I don't feel like doing anything except laying down & zoning out. #oneofthosedays."
