Just got your gleaming iPhone 6 out of the box today? Why then, load it up with new apps ASAP! The same goes if you've just downloaded the iOS 8 and haven't got yourself the newest Apple smartphone model yet.

Recently, it has been revealed that one of the top App Store downloads tapped by iOS 8 users are keyboards. You may be aware that Apple has had control over the iOS user interface for years and left iPhone users unable to jazz up or customize things on their smartphones. However, that's not the case now, as users "can now replace the default iOS keyboard with that of your own choosing, including apps from popular keyboard makers like SwiftKey and Swype," TechCrunch said.

So, should you be downloading these keyboard apps then? Do know that not all the popularly downloaded typing apps "actually replace your keyboard." Some, such as "Pimp My Keyboard," simply allow you to change the keyboard within the app, and not replace the actual keyboard you use to type out messages and notes. With that, do read the fine print before downloading.

Keyboard apps aside, here are 5 of the best apps for your new iPhone or iOS download.

Wunderlist

This app is free and has been named "the king of list-making and life-collaboration apps" by USA Today. You can now view your most critical to-do tasks in the Notification Center. You can save whatever you find on the Web via the share icon.

VSCO Cam

"VSCO Cam, now takes advantage of iOS' fine-tuned camera features like manual focus, shutter speed, and white balance," The Verge said.

Mint

This allows you to use your own fingerprint to access your financial data on your smartphone. No need to memorize passwords with this one!

Epic Zen Garden

This is that free game that Apple used during its iOS 8 presentations, such as the one during WWDC in June, as the platform's high definition graphics aptly challenges the latest iOS' capacities. "This peaceful virtual environment is brimming with detail, and you can interact with literally thousands of cherry blossoms, scores of butterflies, and plenty of other eye-catching effects," Business Insider said.

Sky Guide

Want to learn more about those heavenly bodies in the aftermath of this year's Supermoons and Perseid meteor showers? This is the app for you. It also shows you which stars or constellations can be seen overhead at any time, according to BGR.

Have you any other iOS 8 app to recommend?
