The news of Ben Affleck being banned from casinos for being "too good" at blackjack brought much speculation on the gambling habits and skills of the actor, as well as the state of his marriage to actress Jennifer Garner.

The "Argo" actor-director had recently admitted that he did engage in "advantage play" and counted cards - something that is actually not illegal, according to the Daily Mail. However, this has not stopped various casinos from banning him from the blackjack tables.

"That is a true story. I mean, that took place. I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos," Ben recently told Details.

"I don't play any other games of chance. I don't bet on football games, and I don't gamble at all, really, outside of that. But I knew with blackjack that there's a way you can improve your odds. And so I started trying to learn. And then I just got to a point in my life where I'm like, 'If I'm going to do something, I'm going to try and do it really well,'" he added, as quoted by USA Today.

And, according to reports, this quest to do blackjack "really well" has apparently got his wife wanting to throw in the marital towel. Is there any truth to this?

"That's tabloid s-. That's all b--. They completely lie. (Some) magazines feel totally comfortable absolutely fictionalizing every single element of the story. And there's nothing you can do about that. My only hope is that people with any common sense recognize that those stories are false," Ben declared in response to the rumors.

The couple has been plagued with speculations of a rocky marriage, something which the actor has tried to debunk in a number of ways in the past. He even thanked his wife for "working on our marriage" upon receiving his Best Picture Oscar award last year for "Argo" and said "there's no one I'd rather work with," ABC News reported.

Meanwhile, Jennifer recently told InStyle that she and her famous husband are "in a very mindful place where we're making an effort to be together, do things at the same time, and be loving."

Based on what she said, we're thinking she worked through her husband's yen for gambling and made an effort to understand him, which made the new Batman believe that all is still well with him and his wife.
