One of the most sought-after colorways of the Air Jordan 14 Retro is set to release on September 20.

At 8:00 a.m. EDT on Saturday, the Air Jordan 14 Retro "White/Black" or "Black Toe" will launch at a retail price of $170. The pair will be available in full family sizing, although purchases will be limited to one pair per customer, according to Nike.com. The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Black Toe" GS or girl size will be available at $120, the PS or preschool size at $75 and the TD or toddler size at $55.

One of the reasons why it is highly anticipated by sneakerheads is because it features an original colorway, first seen in 1998. The box label indicates, "White/Black-Varsity Red".

The Air Jordan XIV Retro "Black Toe" was originally launched in 1998. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield and was inspired by a Ferrari, showcasing Michael Jordan's passion for motorsports. The Air Jordan 14 is also referred to by many as the "Last Shot" because it was the pair worn by the guard when he scored the final shot of his career with the Chicago Bulls, winning the game against the Utah Jazz and his sixth championship title.

In a report by Sneakernews.com, the retro version brings the sneakers to its original form. Many might notice how the sides of the upper do not feature the lines and stitches. The fact is, the original model had smooth sides. The lines only appeared in the 2006 retro version.

Here are more notable features of the Air Jordan 14 Retro:

  • The outsole of the shoes is black while the carbon fiber support is silver.
  • The upper is mostly made of white leather, except for the black toe which is made of suede.
  • The tongue, laces and insole are black too.
  • There are hints of varsity red on the outsole, heel and back of the collar.
  • The Jumpman logos and stitching on the tongue are also red.
  • The Jumpman/Ferrari logo also appears on the side in black and white while a white Jumpman and "23" can be seen at the back of the shoes against the black background.

The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Black Toe" will be available at Nike.com, Footlocker.com and Eastbay.com. Other specialty sneaker shops like Rock City Kicks, Flight Club and Finish Line will also be offering the pairs on September 20. Some locations might require buyers to RSVP to acquire raffle tickets for a chance to purchase the shoes in their size.
