Ahead of the premiere of Season 8 of "The Big Bang Theory," Mayim Bialik, who plays Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, recently dished a few spoilers about her character's relationship with the equally nerdy Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons).

Guardian Liberty Voice said the "Blossom" actress revealed that the ShAmy love team would still continue despite the fact that Sheldon left her in the previous season.

Moreover, in an interview with TVLine, executive producer Steve Molaro was quoted as saying, "They're on the same trajectory that they've been on since they met, and that is she is continuing to drag him along into this relationship, whether he wants to admit that he likes it or not. He's come a long way. She's got him to a place where they hold hands and they kiss and they go on regular dates. While it may not seem like a lot, it's a colossal amount for him."

Bialik seems to agree, in a separate interview for Glamour magazine. She hinted that Season 8 opener would see tension between Amy and Sheldon after the latter failed to contact her when he ran away. But as always, Bialik assured that the two would patch things up eventually.

Meanwhile, new stills from the show suggest that Amy will not only get back with Sheldon, but she will be sort of in the middle of a girlfriend feud as Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) experience tension in the workplace.

It could be recalled that in the previous season, Penny has finally moved on from her initial dreams to become an actress and has decided to get a new job as a salesperson at Bernadette's pharmaceutical company. In one of the stills published by Hypable on its website, the gang could be seen in an intervention of sorts. Both Bernadette and Penny are seen sitting opposite the gang, which include Sheldon, Amy, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar). In another photo, Amy is seem comforting an obviously distraught Penny at a lab setting that could be her new workplace.

Bialik told Glamour that Amy would be taking advantage of the friction between Bernadette and Penny, who, in the past seasons, had always been more attuned with each other. She said that the tension would happen in episode two.

"(Penny has) always been the socially dominant one in our character dynamic, so I think it's really special that she'll be competing in a different arena. In episode two, Amy pits Bernadette and Penny against each other," she added.

Meanwhile, here's a recap of all the highlights from "The Big Bang Theory" Season 7.
