CeeLo Green pleaded no contest to a felony drug charge from an incident that happened in 2012, but he should have learned to keep his mouth shut so as not to cause an outrage from people on social net working sites.

According to HollywoodLife  prosecutors already threw out a possible rape case against the singer, supposedly due to lack of evidence, but he still chose to defend himself in the "worst way possible."

The case against CeeLo included a claim that he raped a 33-year-old woman, and instead of trying to diffuse the situation by keeping mum and letting his PR crew deal with it, CeeLo reportedly sent a bunch of shockingly offensive tweets via the microblogging site, Twitter, and nobody was left smiling after.

His alleged declaration?

It's not rape if the woman is unconscious.

He supposedly said, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously," adding that "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"

This caused a roar of outrage from Twitterverse.

After the rants, CeeLo then posted an apology before deleting his account.

As quoted by Buzzfeed:

"Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context.

I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you."

After the uproar, CeeLo's reality TV show, "The Good Life," was canceled, although a source told The Hollywood Reporter that the cancellation was due to low ratings, and not the rape issue.

CeeLo's Twitter was also restored after a while, Buzzfeed added, with the offensive tweets and apology deleted. In place was another apology, saying, "I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe."
