Steven Soderbergh, who first directed "Magic Mike," recently shared a photo on Twitter, supposedly on the set of the film sequel,"Magic Mike XXL." The photo is of someone holding a movie clapper with some of the movie scenes and credits listed. The image was captioned, "It's ON!"

The photo reveals that the production crew is shooting scenes at Myrtle Beach. The image also speaks volumes when it comes to the people behind the scenes. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Soderbergh would be passing the duties of directing the sequel to his go-to first assistant director and repeat collaborator, Gregory Jacobs. Soderbergh will still serve as the film's director of photography, camera operator and film editor, the entertainment site also confirmed.

Soderbergh explained his reasons behind relinquishing his role to Jacobs. He told GQ magazine, "I want to be there, but I don't want to be the director. I want to be a part of it. I want to be in the band, but I just don't want to be the frontman this time."

Both Soderbergh and Jacobs worked on "Side Effects," "Behind The Candelabra" and all "Ocean's" films, THR added.

In the meantime, there is little to no word about whether all of the cast members in the original film would be reprising their roles in the sequel. Alex Pettyfer, for one, remains to be tied to "Magic Mike XXL." Back then, it was believed that Tatum himself is not eager to work with Pettyfer on the set again.

Citing a source, US Weekly said Pettyfer had been difficult on the set, and had massive fights with Tatum, who is also the producer on the film. The source said, "Alex was a jerk to everyone during filming for no reason. He thinks he's the star of the movie, not Channing or Matthew McConaughey."

Another insider told the New York Post, "Those around them tried to mend their relationship, but Channing doesn't want anything to do with Alex. Alex is known in Hollywood for being rude and difficult."

But OK Magazine quoted a source who disclosed that Pettyfer is actually changing his ways to make sure he gets in the sequel. The source said, "Alex is dying to reprise his role, but Channing is on the fence. It's going to take a lot of sucking up for Alex to get his part back."
