As the release date of "NBA 2K15" draws closer, a game update revealed that Kevin Durant has a rating of 95.

In a post by the game's official account of Facebook, the reigning NBA MVP and cover star of the new game by 2K Sports will be among the few players to be given a rating above 90.

NBA 2K on Facebook stated, "Kevin Durant's rating in NBA 2K15. KD is only one of four current players that have over +90 in the game's new rating system!"

The account further invited more fans to follow them on Twitter. For every 5,000 new followers their Twitter account (@NBA2K) gets, 100 players ratings for the game will be revealed.

In a report by Fansided, fans began speculating how other NBA stars would rate in the new game. Expectedly, LeBron James would be among the special four that would have a 90+ rating. Many also expect Durant's OKC teammate, Russell Westbrook, to make the cut. In "NBA 2K14", Westbrook had a rating of 91. He might be the highest rated point guard in the upcoming game. Fans also shared their expected player ratings for the rest of OKC Thunder, which saw a big climb since the previous version.

LeBron James, who was on the cover of "NBA 2K14", is bound to be in the top four of the new game, although this might be the year that Durant surpasses The King in ratings.

Two other point guards are speculated to make the cut namely Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers and the returning Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. In the previous version, Paul has a rating of 94 while Rose was rated 92. However, there's a chance Rose's rating might go under 90 for the 2015 version due to his long absence and unpredictable health status.

Player ratings in "NBA 2K15" will be based on both the offensive and defensive abilities of players. Factors such as scoring, passing, rebounding and stamina will be included in determining the overall scores.

An independent ranking by International Sports Hub somehow shows Carmelo Anthony in the running to be in the top four, being one of the best scorers in the league at present. Other players predicted to be in the 90 and up ranks could include James Harden, Stephen Curry, LaMarcus Aldridge, Dwight Howard, Paul George and Kevin Love. Other stars might experience a decline due to age or absence in the past season, such as Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant.
