A number of female celebrities reeled Sunday evening from the massive nude photo leak orchestrated by a 4chan user, which is suspected to be behind the hacking of numerous iCloud accounts. Foremost among the actresses and models hacked is Jennifer Lawrence, who did not delay in admitting that the images were indeed hers.

"This is a flagrant violation of privacy," a representative of the "Hunger Games" star said, according to The Independent. "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

Aside from stealing nude photos of the actress, the hacker is also said to be in possession of a video of the Oscar-winning 24-year-old "allegedly performing a sex act," the British news source added. "The so far unidentified hacker - who released the original naked photos online yesterday - said that he or she is accepting Paypal donations for the video."

"I know no one will believe me, but i have a short lawrence video," the hacker allegedly wrote. "Is way too short, a little over 2 minutes and you only get to see her boobs."

"Anyways, if somebody wants it let me know how i can upload it anonymously (i dont want the FBI over me, and you dont wanna know how I got this video.)"

Independent.ie also said that the culprit(s) had also "posted a 'screenshot' of a screen featuring several photographs and videos of the actress in an effort to prove the authenticity of their claims."

Currently, there have been no updates as to whether the said clip was indeed released.

Right now, Apple is reportedly conducting its own investigations regarding the alleged iCloud hack, according to NBC News. "We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report," said Apple spokeswoman Nat Kerris. The iPhone maker has not yet clarified how the perpetrators were able to steal the pictures.

Meanwhile, the FBI has also moved to check into the issue and "is addressing the matter."

"Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time," stated FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller, CNN said.

"The large-scale hacking is reportedly as a result of an 'iCloud leak' which allowed a number of celebrities phones to be hacked via the Cloud. The information on this hack was posted to hacking forum 4chan, in what is believed to be an effort to earn Bitcoins," Independent.ie noted.

Meanwhile, a debate on whose fault the latest photo leak was is currently heating up some parts of cyberspace as we speak. Some have blamed the celebrities themselves, while others have defended the subjects of the leaked images.

"The blame for a crime lies not with the victim but with the criminal," opined psychologist Peggy Drexler, in a piece contributed to CNN. "Jennifer Lawrence was not naïve, or tacky, or any number of criticisms that have been and surely will be lobbed at her, for posing for provocative photos."

"She was a normal young woman," she continued. "And I suspect that we're more shocked by the fact that Lawrence had a glass of wine and posed naked for a boyfriend than the fact the image is now ours to see. We've become accustomed to knowing everything about everyone."

"The problem isn't the picture. It's the perpetrator," she concluded.
